Feminale war der Name des ersten Frauenfilmfestival Deutschlands. Unter der Bezeichnung „1. Kölner FrauenFilmFest – Feminale“ fand sie vom 27. bis 29. April 1984 zum ersten Mal statt. Von 1984 bis 1986 wurde die Feminale jährlich, ab 1986 alle zwei Jahre veranstaltet. Das hing damit zusammen, dass unweit von Köln, in Dortmund, ein weiteres Frauenfilmfest, die femme totale, startete. Bis 2004 wurde die Feminale zwanzig Jahre lang realisiert. 2006 ging das Festival durch die Fusion mit der femme totale im Internationalen Frauenfilmfestival Dortmund | Köln auf.
