Das Atlantic City Pop Festival fand vom 1. bis zum 3. August 1969 statt, zwei Wochen vor dem Woodstock-Festival. Es kamen über 100.000 Besucher. Die Liste der aufgetretenen Bands und Musiker liest sich wie ein Who’s Who der damaligen Rock- und Popszene. Organisatoren des Festivals waren Herb, Allen und Jerry Spivak, Shelley Kaplan sowie Larry Magid. Der Eintritt betrug $ 6 pro Tag, $15 für das ganze Wochenende.
